An afternoon outside

We did everything there is to do close by our apartment yesterday. Beach, boardwalk, and a grassy area.

No crib for a bed

Dallin has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor, and it hasn't been going great. He crawls out when he wants to, sometimes several times a night. So this is what we rigged to keep him in and get him ready to go back to a crib when we go home. Pack and play doesn't work with this kid. A little too big and squirmy.

His hair cut. Probably the shortest he's gone. I kind of like it.

Faux Hawks and Sunglasses

Time for a hair cut. If his hair would stay in this faux hawk then I would leave it long. I think it is adorable. But the cuteness only lasts about 20 minutes. Doesn't Tanner have lovely lashes?

Dallin loves to wear sunglasses. Will leave them on all day if we let him.

Turkey Swamp

Yeah, I know, weird name. Cool place though. I took our old camera because I was planning to get on the boat. I like me new one much better! We all planned to go on the boat, but rule was 2 adults 1 kid. So, I let Nate and Tanner go for some good father son time. I can tell when Tanner gets some one-on-one time with Nate he feels closer to him. For the couple hours afterward he will ask, "Where's dad?" or "What's daddy doing?" We'll be sure to have plenty of dad time with the kids.










While they were on the boat, Dallin got me, and we played at the park.

Fun filled weekend

Starting with raspberry picking. We did a lot, and of course I took lots of pictures. So I will do one day at a time. Saturday we picked berries and went to the spray park.

Levi was not very productive. He would pick a berry and put it in his bucket, leave it there for about 10 seconds then reach in and eat it. So cute!

We went to a park I hadn't been too, so I had to take my camera. It was right next to a lake with boats. So gorgeous! I took way too many pictures! These were some of my favorites.

Dallin's double jointed toesMany have asked what the quality of the video is on my camera. It actually looks a lot better on a big screen. I need to adjust the settings to get a better quality small one, I guess. But here is a little video of some of the kids out the park. I think it is adorable. This never got old. They did it over and over.

Pool

We surprisingly don't use the pool too much here; 0nce a week, maybe twice. The boys love it though. About a third of the pool is only 6 inches deep, so it is a very baby/toddler friendly pool.

Here is another one of Tanner's friends, Luke. He will sure miss the kids here. So many his age!

Yesterday Tanner was wrestling with another little boy, Cody. At first I thought he being a bully, pushing Cody around, but they were both laughing and knocking each other to the ground. Those would have been fun pictures.

To switch or not to switch

Sheesh! I have a lot on my mind these days!

Anyone use cloth diapers? Or have and don't any more? I am thinking about trying them on Dallin when Nate is in grad school, but don't want to make a big mistake. It is sort of a big initial investment that can save a ton of money in the long run. But will I be hating life using them? Tell me what you think about them.

I don't heart N.Y.

We headed to New York this weekend, and drove. Let's just say, we won't do that again! Actually, let me tell you why. It's funny, a friend of ours, Chuck (who use to live in NY), said, "You are patient people, you can drive in New York." We actually believed his compliment, that we are patient! We should have known better. Patience (along with extremely defensive driving) is definitely what it takes, and we actually don't have it. But, Nate definitely is a defensive driver! Maybe even an offensive driver. Just kidding! Next time, if there is a next time, we will take a train or ferry.





We went to Lombardi's for lunch, a pizza place that we heard we HAD to eat at. It was tasty, not delectable, but praiseworthy. Our crust was a little burnt. Sorry no pictures. I felt too touristy to take a picture there, which is silly; most people in NY are tourists, and those who aren't are used to us. Oh well.




But I had no issues with taking pictures at Central Park. We only saw a little corner since our energy was drained from walking so many blocks from our parking spots and having our adrenaline pumping from driving there (ok I am exaggerating). We may go again, or not. I'd be ok if we didn't. I know, I am a party pooper and unadventurous. I get it from my mom. Trust me, she isn't offended by that. She probably takes it as a compliment even. huh mom? :)

Sorry for the long, rambling post. I never do this.
