Park with Grandpa

We've enjoyed having my parents here for the week. We haven't been out site seeing as much as I thought, but site seeing is expensive here, and so are all the dumb toll roads that get you to all the cool places. And Nate had to go to an eye specialist for an eye problem, and they are having him do blood tests and an MRI and get an $80 bottle of eye drops. So we are trying to be extra conservative in our spending. So we've been taking my parents to parks, beaches, lighthouses and a flea market. They went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We've rented movies most days. I'm just glad to have some company, and they are happy to have time off of work.

Dallin

Loves corn and getting under anything he can fit under. Even though this is a fun time for Dallin; learning a lot and showing his personality, I am sad I am going to be baby-less and will have two toddlers soon. Dallin has been such a sweet baby. I hope he stays sweet.

Another park-Shark River

This was pretty much all Tanner played on. I am afraid he will have lots of hospital visits because of his interest in climbing things and jumping off of things

My favorite part about this picture of me on the slide is Tanner coming down behind me with his leg all tweaked unnaturally.


We went to the park to celebrate Braden's birthday. We barbecued hot dogs and had oreo cheesecake. I think Braden liked this sand scooper more than the little kids. I should have got pictures of the group, Jordan and Michaela were there of course, and her brother Allen and his wife Christy.

What we've been up to

Not too much actually, but here are a few things. My parents are coming next week so we will have more to post about I am sure.

Learning how to throw a ball (it is between his legs). He throws it and then chases after it.

Getting into everything.

Learning how to get dressed. It has taken him long enough!

And getting big! Dallin will be one next month! I think he looks like a little Nate in this picture.

We found out that they are going to start charging to go to the beach. Isn't that ridiculous!?! I've never heard of that before. They charge for everything here! So glad I live in the western U.S. And you know what else? They have full service gas stations. I have now lived in the only 2 states that still have that. But I don't like!

Dorbrook park

We found another great park. It is a huge playground and also a splash park (that will open soon and we are so excited). I think this will be a park we go to a lot.

I swear I didn't put Dallin in this position. He wanted up that slide so bad.

He was obsessed with this doll for some reason.

This was a favorite. The slide was just a bunch of tubes that you roll on top of. Loving the parks and how beautiful New Jersey is. The people, in general, are grouchy though. Would NEVER live here long term. The poor sales reps get so verbally abused and rejected sometimes. They are pretty good sports though and just keep going. We are really glad Nate will have a career in Physical Therapy soon.

Holmdel Park-Tanner

This park is a historic site and it had a farm with a few animals. The coolest was probably the peacock. Tanner is loving seeing so many friends everyday. I wish he was nicer to some of them. He can be bossy. Maybe he gets that from me bossing him around. I need to work on that.

















I took way too many pictures. I was the mom who didn't socialize just so I could catch any photo op. Taking pictures is just one of my favorite things to do. Wish I had a nicer camera.

Holmdel Park-Dallin

The APX moms went to this gorgeous park today. So green. There was the most amazing play structure for the kids. Even Dallin enjoyed crawling around the place. The ground was rubber so it was easy on his knees.

Swing and boardwalk

Love this picture. They just look like they love each other, don't they? We have this funky swing that hangs from the ceiling in our apartment lounge. It is really comfy and I want one someday. Just about every time we pass it Tanner wants to get in. Dallin loves it do he looks so relaxed.



Here is our morning walk/jog on the board walk. I think I will take up jogging this summer. (I know, Mom, it will hurt my knees, but I am going to do it any way!) I've been doing it the last couple days, and I like the change. The boardwalk is 4 miles down and back so that is a good jog. I just did 2 miles this morning and it wasn't bad at all. Should be at 4 before too long.

Yay! Playgroup! Tanner always wants to push Dallin in the stroller.


Tanner liked to collect rocks and throw them in the ocean. He was scared of the water though.
Then there is Dallin with his new friend Sawyer. The kids here dress so trendy and cute. Check out his leg warmers.

For some reason the younger kids liked to eat the sand. This is Walker with the sand on his face. His mom says that sand makes their poop like cement. Ha ha. I laugh now.

We are so happy to have everyone here now so we have people to hang out with. The APX wives are all really nice. This should be a great summer. Nate has been doing pretty good with sales. Still getting the hang of it but getting a few a week so far.
