Tanner isn't feeling well. He's had a cold and he got his shots yesterday. He's had a fever ever since he got poked. Poor kid. He looks like a sad puppy.

These aren't quite his first words, but it's a start. He got his four month shots today and took it well. The nurses came in and got so many giggles and smiles out of him, then before he knew what hit him...they stabbed him in the leg with 3 shots. Not many smiles after that, but he didn't cry long. He didn't want to talk about it much either.

Christmas

News

Nate got a job as a supervisor at the Rexburg Opinion Center. He started as a phone surveyor and moved up to a monitor, and now supervisor. He got a pay raise and nice benefits. We are pretty excited, but it is full time so not as much family time. :( He'll work 2-10 p.m. five days a week, and do full time school in the morning. We'll get use to it. Plenty of people have done it. So can we.

Ok, now Tanner is really ready for the cold. It is a little big still but he will grow into it.

Paul & Paula came over for family night and we made houses. I dont want to eat them, they're so cute.

Ready for winter

Tanner's aunt Kris made him this cute hat. He wore it for the first time last night at Kelly's work party. We went on a wagon ride at Mt. River Ranch and had an amazing dinner of prime rib.

Tanner's aunt Tracie bought him this pacifier. It's pretty hilareous. He doesn't take a pacifier very much though.

Tanner used to hate lying on his stomach, but we have been putting him on it more so he can exercise his neck muscles. He is learning to like it, and is getting strong. He prefers to sit proped against a pillow or in someone's lap than lying on the floor now

Tanner still has a hard time holding up his head. It just sort of wobbles around, and since it is so heavy, his whole body goes with it. He tries so hard though.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. It was nice to be as a family for 4 whole days!!! We don't get that very often. We went to Paul and Paula's house for dinner and games. We are addicted to the game Sequence. We played it over and over. Last year we started a tradition of going bowling every Thanksgiving, so we went this year. Tracie came with us, she's an amazing bowler--thanks to her 3 semesters of bowling classes. Tanner and Kelly were sick with colds all weekend, but we still had a good time. Kelly made an amazing pumpkin cheese cake with a maple pecan glaze. Nate thinks she needs to sell it and make money. We got all our Christmas shopping done this weekend too. We were together the whole time so there are no suprised gifts for us.

Tanner doesn't like the cold as you can see from his expression. He gasps every time we take him out in it. So we got him this nifty little carseat cover to keep the cold out.

Halloween

Tanner is pretty active. He loves to kick, especially on his changing table. It makes changing his diaper hard sometimes.

Shots

Tanner did pretty good with his shots, so did Mom. I didn't have to hold him down, thank goodness. I just sat behind the nurses. They were kind of cold. I guess you kind of have to be mean to make babies cry for a living. But they hardly said a word to me, not even hello. As they left one said, "Wow he has a set of lungs." The other said, "See ya in a couple months." (Yeah so she can enjoy doing it all over again.) He only cried for a minute, but later he didn't like getting a diaper change, as you can see in the picture. I think when I took off his pants it rubbed the spots where he was stuck. Poor kid.

Reading

Tanner enjoys being read to. We want him to learn to love reading.

Reunion

While in Utah Nate got to see his budy Cade from Arizona. He is going to BYU and we visited him during the football game half time.

BYU Game

We went to the BYU Homecoming game. It was our first family vacation with Tanner. He slept through most of it (Kelly would have liked to—football isn’t really her thing). BYU won by the way. 52-7

Kelly's haircut

Kelly had the urge to get a hair cut last week, so she went to the salon practically in the moment she got the urge to have it done (otherwise she probably would have talked herself out of it). She thinks it makes her look a little too old, but overall we like it. As soon as Kelly walked out of the salon a lady complimented her on her hair, so it must not look too bad.
