Happy Birthday Dallin!

He turned 2 today. He is obsessed with Toy Story these days, so we kind of made that the theme. He was spoiled by his aunts and uncles with Toy Story toys. He was so excited. Tanner was a bit jealous. He wishes he was the birthday boy; talks about his birthday all the time.

Tanner thinks some of the toys are his. Got pretty upset about not getting all the attention. Poor guy.

Had to get a shot of all the Spence brothers and families. Notice all the boys babies. Wonder if we will break the boy streak. Will know next Monday!

Ty just had his first birthday too. Lots of June and July birthdays in the Spence family.

Miniture Golf

Nate's Dad and brother, Braden, came up from Texas this week. They took us mini golfing. I was nervous about taking the boys because you know how, or can imagine how, little boys like to play with balls and love to swing, well, just about anything around. I thought they would mess everything up, and of course they did--hitting all the balls, picking them up whenever they wanted, slowing us down--but we didn't worry much about keeping score and just enjoyed. We get to play more tonight at Nate's brother's birthday party. Nate's other brother, Jordan, and his family will be here for the weekend. Should be a fun little reunion. Lots of pictures to come.

Seven Peaks

I got pictures from Mickie of us at Seven Peaks. I had more fun than I expected. The last time I went I had just had Dallin and didn't get to play. Just sat and watched. This time the boys were old enough to go in the little kid pools and down slides. It is a really fun place. Me and the boys went by ourselves yesterday afternoon again.

All that fun wore them out. Dallin hates his car seat sometimes and pulls his arms out. That is what he did here. Looks so uncomfortable and unsafe!

Thanksgiving Poing Farm

We headed to Thanksgiving Point today. There is a lot to do there, but we just went to the Farm. It was fun except for the hour long wait to ride the ponies for about one minute.

A belly shot, since some of you love these things

I admit I like to see other people's belly shots, I hate taking them of myself though. I don't feel so beautiful when I am prego. But here you go. I am 19 weeks. If I was in Pocatello right now I would know the sex of the baby, but since I am in Utah, it will have to wait until we get back on the 21st of June. Oh well.

We had a fun Memorial Day with family and friends at 7 Peaks. I know we should have been visiting graves; we will start that tradition next year. We should be in Oregon for an internship and we know some deceased people there. Anyway, we bought season passes to 7 Peaks even though we only have 3 weeks left. There was a can't-pass-up deal (one $5 more than a day pass) plus the kids are free. So we will be going a lot until we go. Tanner loved going down the big slides with Nate. Such a fun place! Pictures to come. I need to get some from Mickie. I was scared to take my DSLR.

Just finished a book called Original Fast Foods, another health one. Loved it. I am kind of back on the plant based diet now that cravings for meat and dairy have gone away. I think going back to a more normal diet made me put on weight a little fast in the beginning of pregnancy. Not that I've put on more than I should, it is just a bit faster than with the first two.

Children's Museum

My friend Erin has a pass to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake and she got me and the boys in free. Such a neat place! The kids could have spent all day there.

Freezer jam and grumpy lady

I met up with Annalisa again and we made strawberry freezer jam since WalMart had their berries for $0.98 a pound. I'd never made it before, and actually I am not sure I ever will again, even though I've always loved it. Especially when my grandma made it. I had no idea that it would be 4 cups of strawberries to 8 cups of sugar!!!

For a family home evening treat last night we went out and got a milkshake. While waiting an older lady, probably nearly 70, gave us the evil eye because Tanner and Dallin made too much noise for her. They were squealing with delight not fighting and screaming. It was cute! I enjoy it when they play well together. But I found myself getting after them to be quiet even though it wasn't a big deal to anyone but her. I didn't really know what to do. I was more frustrated with the lady than the boys. I mean come on! They are kids. Doesn't she remember what it is like to have them or is her memory too far gone? We ended up leaving frustrated as soon as we got our milkshake. We were going to stay. At that point the boys were upset and crying. So what do you do in that situation? This has happened numerous times and I never know how to handle it.

What a fun place

Here is the backyard of the place we are staying at. There is a trampoline, which the boys love, and a sandbox. Lots of running room. And a pretty awesome garden that the boys stay out of. It is nice to not have to go far to entertain the boys, although we have gone up to Salt Lake and down to Spanish Fork for entertainment, so we do go far also.

By the way, I got really sick this weekend. Throwing up and junk. Nate was great and took the boys for the day while I stayed in bed. I was bummed because we only have about 6 weekends to have Nate to play with us and I was sick! Oh well.

Bloggin' again

Not sure what got into me, but I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. We have been in Utah for a week. We (me and the boys) have been visiting parks and friends, and I always forget my camera, until today. I finally took it to a park in Salt Lake where we met up with Erin and her kids, who we met last summer in New Jersey. I've also seen Annalisa, a childhood friend that I've maintained contact with. It has been really fun. I can't believe one week is down already. 5 more to go. 

Nate has been enjoying his clinical affiliation, but said it isn't very challenging. He is doing acute care, which is at the hospital. He basically helps patients out of bed and gets them to walk around a bit. Luckily there are other options with PT and he can do something that will suit him better. Transportation on the buses and Trax have been interesting, and annoying. He will get it down soon.

Clinical Affiliation

I just realized I never blogged about what we are doing for the next couple of weeks. Nate has his first clinical affiliation at a hospital in Salt Lake. We were blessed to find a place to stay thanks to some Rexburg friends, the Garners. We will stay about 45 minutes from SLC for 6 weeks. We are excited for a change of scenery. We have never actually lived in Utah, just visited for a couple days at a time. If anyone knows of any fun places to visit while there, please tell us!
