4th of July evening

Nate got off work early on the 4th and we had a barbecue with the office, then we headed down the the beach at sunset to play before the fire works. It was such a relaxing evening. Well mostly. Tanner disappeared with his friend Levi, that was horrifying! I was busy playing with the camera and Nate was doing, I don't know what. Then everyone noticed the boys were missing. The beach was packed so it was really scary. All kind of things run through your mind. Luckily they were found.

The first part of our 4th

The kids all decorated scooters and bikes and did a little parade for the APX guys and threw candy at them. Tanner started it and got way ahead.

Tanner and Ellie (girls are so great at posing for pictures. I didn't even have to ask her to look at me she just saw me pointing the camera at her and she flashed a smile. She's a sweeties, and so adorable in her 4th of July outfit)

And Brilee, same as Ellie, just instantly smiled when she saw the camera. Her mom makes head bands like the one she is wearing and sells them, among many other adorable accessories. (Anyone interested?) I wish she sold more boy stuff.

Happy Happy Birthday, Nate!

Nate turned 27 today! We went to Bobby's Burger Palace for Nate's birthday lunch. It was pretty good. Nate thought it was just all right.

It is a tradition to have tres leches cake for his birthday. We did it with berries this year. Dallin got to the berries when I was taking a picture.

We're so glad when Daddy is home

We went to one of our favorite parks with Nate the other day. He has been getting to go into work a little later lately, so we try to do fun stuff with him.

Beautiful day at the beach

The beach is one thing I will miss most about living in NJ. I am trying to soak up this experience because it's not happening again. Today our day went like this:

• walk/jog on the boardwalk
• swim in the pool
• lunch
• naps
• beach
• dinner
• baths
  

And we almost always have APX families there playing with us. It will be hard to transition back to normal life, especially in a new place. But we look forward to it.

Loving my Nikon D5000. Went with it because we didn't want to get a video camera too: they cost a couple hundred themselves. So far I haven't been disappointed. Haven't used the video feature much yet.































Doesn't it make you sick to see how many people there are just begging for skin cancer by sun bathing? I can't believe how vain people are, just wanting to be tan. I mean, I like to be tan, I guess, but not at that risk. Sorry if you go sun bathing, and are offended, but I don't take it back. :)

A child's prayer

We had the missionaries over for dinner and had a prayer together, and Tanner said it with Nate's help. It went sort of like this.
Nate: Heavenly Father...
Tanner: Father
Nate: Thank you for this day...
Tanner: Thank you for the day
Nate: Thank you...(hoping Tanner would take it away and pray from the heart)
Tanner: You're welcome!
Everyone: chuckles

Kids are so cute some times.

Ouch

I forgot that Dallin wipes tomato sauce all over his face when he eats pasta, and that this is what he looks like after. He loves the stuff though, and I am pretty sure he's not allergic. This would happen to anyone who put tomato sauce on their face. I should probably feed it to him instead of letting him do it. He even got it in his eye.





Just some pictures I took with my new camera. I love it! I don't have to edit my pictures to make them look decent. I love that!

Any recommendations?

I am looking into a Digital SLR camera and want opinions from those who have them or have researched them. I go crazy researching and reading reviews from people I don't know.

I am in love with this Nikon D5000, but it's a little spendy. Ok a lot spendy with the extra lens I want. It has video capabilities which a lot of DSLRs don't have. Not a total necessity but would be nice.

Climbing again

This scares me! I know, why would I even pause to take a picture? I should be grabbing him. I just love to document these things, so I risked it. He climbs on everything he possibly can. I found him hanging out in a window sill the other day, yelling for help to get down.



This picture was supposed to show a rash Dallin got after eating tomato sauce, but it doesn't show up very well at all. I don't think he is allergic, I think it is just that he rubbed an acidic food all over his face.
