Weird pregnancy things

  • I always laughed a women with cravings related to pregnancy. Thought it was in the head, but I have been craving things! Weird thing is, I became nearly vegan a few months ago, and that is out the window for now. I started craving meat and dairy bad. The cravings are passing though, maybe I just needed some iron, or some protein, B12, whatever. I don't think I will give up the meat and dairy to the extent I had while I am prego just to be sure to get the nutrients.

  • I've heard it said, "If you find yourself with an appetite like a teenage boy, it is likely you will have a boy." If that is the case, I am having another! I've been so hungry and food never tasted so good, probably because I am eating meat and dairy again. Ha ha. Luckily I haven't put on a bunch of weight. Maybe more than I need to for being 10 weeks though:  2 lbs. They say up to 5 in the first trimester, so I am actually fine. I'd rather have an appetite than morning sickness. My goal is to not gain more than 25 lbs. Gained that with Dallin and struggled with the last 5 or so.

  • Pretty sure I am not having twins, but I've never felt anxious about it like I do this time. With my other pregnancies I got an ultra sound at 9 weeks to see how many are in there and stuff. Not here. No ultrasound until 20 weeks. I am probably anxious because now we are thinking we will just get a narrower car seat for Dallin and squeeze all 3 in the car. If we had twins, a new car would be a must.

  • I am exhausted like I've never been before. 2 hour naps everyday. We have stairs in our place and I get to the bottom, look up, sigh, and start the hike. Sometimes half way up (only about 7 steps) I have to stop for a rest. When I get to the top sometimes I am dizzy and want to sit there for a few minutes to recover. So weird. I am in good shape. I still go to my spinning and barbell class a few times a week, but I take the intensity way down, to get through it. This is the most frustrating part of pregnancy for me. Makes me a grouch.

Any opinions?

We will officially need a new car as of late October 2010 to accommodate our growing family. Yes! This is an announcement that we are pregnant! We won't be able to fit three car seats in our Subaru Outback, so we will need to upgrade. Our Outback has been so good to us and will be hard to replace. We are looking at a few cars and wonder if anyone has an opinion on these or other 6+ passenger cars. We don't want an American made car, so don't even suggest it. :) Our only other requirements are All Wheel Drive and not ridiculously expensive. We'll go with a used one that is a couple years old probably.

Drew

My nephew was born on March 19th. His name is Drew Ryan Tanner. 8 lbs. and 20 inches long. We went to Rexburg for the weekend to help out. Of course I had to take pictures.

Baseball prep

Tanner and Dallin practiced hitting a racquetball with racquets. Tanner should be ready to use a bat in no time. He was hitting the ball really well. I can't wait until the boys are on teams. I think it will be so fun to cheer for them at games.

Drawing

Tanner has been showing an interest in drawing recently. He tries really hard to color inside the lines in coloring books.

He gave his drawings names. I am not sure why Calin (his baby cousin) is the one with the eye brows. Or why "Sister" is on there. I've asked him if he wants a sister and he said "No!" I'm not surprised the Campbell family is on there. He loves them.

See what I mean?

about the bum coverage of underwear when it is on wrong? And it doesn't even make sense that he wants them on backwards with this pair because the picture is the same on the front and back. Who knows?

He makes me laugh

Tanner likes to wear his underwear backwards so he can see the pictures on them. As you probably know, the fronts are a little smaller than the backs, so not as good of coverage.

Winks & Smooches

We were bored this afternoon, so I got out the camera and messed around. I wink at Tanner a lot and he started doing it back. He does it perfectly.

Scooting again

Remember this scooter from last summer? The best thing for a little boy to have in my opinion. It is the one thing that has never gotten old for Tanner.

This was Tanner last summer in NJ with his buddy. We are so excited to see them when we go to Utah for Nate's clinical affiliation in a couple months. Definitely taking the scooter so they can do more scootin'.
And sticks never get old either. :)

Gorgeous Family

This family was in our student ward when we were in Rexburg. Rachel was my faithful visiting teacher and friend. I was so excited to get to take pictures for them. They are all so photogenic.

Injury-repost

Don't know why the video hasn't worked for so many. Works on my computer. I tried again, and it worked for me, what about you?

Tanner tells about how he hurt his chin.

Book of Mormon Stories

This is Tanner's favorite song: Book of Mormon Stories. He actually knows all the words to the first verse, he just skipped some parts. I love it! The "duh! duh!" is my favorite. I would love to see videos like this of me as a kid. Too bad the technology just wasn't the same way back then. :)

and Happy Valentine's Day
Thanks for the suckers Ty! ;)

Tanner the poser

Tanner saw me posing for the pictures Nate took of me in my skirt and he wanted to be photographed too. So here is our little photo shoot. Not bad a striking a pose huh?

He's really into drawing these days and "writing his name". He's drawing on a dry erase board in those couple pictures.

Tanner has been cracking me up lately. The other day I called Dallin "Honey" and he said mom, "He's not honey! Honey is for bees!"

He really likes to chat. We'll just sit an talk about whatever is on his mind. It is fun to get to know him more.

Look what I made

I needed a project, so I got this pattern from here and made a skirt. The top is smocked so it can work as a maternity skirt also, not that I am pregnant. I just love versatile clothing.

I swap babysitting with a couple of friends and this is one of Tanner's buddies, Emily, that I watch a couple days. They are pretty cute together. They switched toys, Tanner gets Barbie, Emily gets a car.

On the phone with Joel

Tanner likes to chat on the phone. With anyone really, but he was laughing and pacing while he talked to his cousin Joel. The conversation was mostly. "Hi Joel!" and "Whatcha doin' Joel?" Over and over again. And squeals of excitement. It was pretty amusing. I hope my kids get to live by their cousins. My cousins were some of my best friends.

Snow

We finally got more snow and went sledding. No pictures. Forgot my camera. There is still time.

But here are Tanner and Dallin playing. I know, Tanner looks underdressed. He seems to be immune to cold. Doesn't bother him.

Dallin likes to eat snow. He will pick it out of the crevices on his shoes and eat it.

Food Inc.

As many of you know, I am obsessed with health and nutrition right now. I heard about this film from an Oprah clip I watched and had to see it. It was so interesting and disturbing. I recommend it if you want your eyes opened to a huge problem in our country. Watch the trailer to get an idea of what it is about. I just rented it at Hollywood video. If my video is too slow here is a website with it. http://www.foodincmovie.com/

Anybody know anybody?

Nate has a clinical affiliation in Salt Lake this spring for six weeks. Me and the boys would love to go with him, but we don't have a place to stay for those six weeks. Do any of you know anybody somewhat close to SLC that has a place for us to rent for such short term? Otherwise I will stay in Pocatello with the boys. Alone. Boo hoo.

Bribery and Grey Hair

I made a green smoothie that I thought Tanner would like. For those who drink them and want to know what I put in it, I did the normal blender full of greens. Added a whole banana, a cup of orange juice, and a thick slice of fresh pineapple. So good!
Tanner will refuse green smoothies every time, even when I tell him it is so yummy. I offered him some of this one and he said no, of course, so I bribed him. I offered him a quarter to take a sip. He always asks for one to put in the quarter machines at the mall. He took a sip, and then finished it! I was so excited. I hope he'll be more open now.
We tell Tanner that healthy foods strong, and when he is done eating them he will always show us his muscles. Here is a video of him and Dallin doing it. Makes me laugh how they shake and pull a face.

Oh, and LOOK what I found today in my bangs! A grey hair! I hope they don't keep showing up. Look how kinky and ugly it is.

Progress & Picasa

So I decided to play around with Picasa to do a collage like everyone said to, and I love it. Way easier than Photoshop. Did this one in just a couple minutes.
I also wanted to report on Tanner's progress with healthier eating, as if anyone really cares. But he's taking to it well. We bought edamame and he loves the stuff. Gobbled it up. He really wanted to do a grumpy face picture (the one in the middle).
