Happy Birthday to ME!

It was really just another day for me though. Nate was gone til 6ish then we went to Cold Stone for ice cream. My lovely sister Tracie got me a gift card for the place. Got the biggest one of the birthday kind. Don't know all the technical Cold Stone terms, dilectable (like Nate would say). Then we went to Jordan's flag football game, which I think he won. We didn't stay cuz Tanner was sleepy. I am excited to buy myself some new clothes with some birthday money I got from Mom & Dad. I desperately need some. I am 26 by the way.

Here is a video of Tanner crawling. He's already gotten into the trash, stuck under a chair, and tried to squeeze next to the fridge where he saw my mop and broom. I don't know if I like this crawling business.

Babysitting and Crawling

I babysat for a friend today, and it was actually fun. I was nervous because Tanner can be so demanding but he did really well. Liked to play with Kaylee, and for the most part played nice. He started crawling today. He did it once like it was nothing, he had no fear. Then I tried to get him to do it again and he was a little more hesitant. In a couple days I am sure he will be all over the place. Kaylee is really cute. She loved to touch Tanner and she was so gentle, then Tanner would try and rip out her bow. Bratty boy!

Ok, these guys are my new favorite band right now. Nate and I went to their concert last night. I've always liked them but they were amazing in concert. So entertaining.

Gut busting cough

So, last night I was coming out of Albertsons and putting the groceries away. The car next to me was pulling out, and I had the urge to cough (coughing and laughing are a painful after gall bladder surgery). I must have looked like I was getting ready to hurl or have a seizure or something because I was trying to hold in the coughs. I was bent over into my car, and I am sure I was making a weird face and noises. Then, I started to hold my stomach because if I push on it a little when I am coughing it doesn't hurt quite as bad. I saw the car stop behind my car and stare with concern. I acted normal after I got it out and the guy just smiled politely like he didn't see anything, but the wife looked horrified. And they drove off. I felt dumb, and sore.

Surgery Update

Surgery went well yesterday. I am sore today and can't pick up Tanner, which is sad, but I get around pretty good. Poor Nate was taking care of both Tanner and me yesterday. Tanner was sick all day yesterday and the night before. He wouldn't eat anything, had a fever, and still has diarrhea real bad. Nate had to change the diapers all day. He's a trooper, and no complaining from him. Nate has been so helpful. I think I have been taking him for granted. Takes something like surgery to realize how much I need him and appreciate him. He's such a good husband. And my family is great too. My sister, Tracie, and sister-in-law, Paula, have been taking turns taking care of me (more like Tanner), and my brother, Paul, is coming soon to take his turn. I am treating myself to Dreyers Loaded Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream for dinner tonight. I can only eat clear liquids and soft dairy products today. I can add grains tomorrow. Can't wait!

Tanner looks so chunky here. I went for his 9 month checkup and he is nearly 20 pounds, putting him at the 50th percentile. We went to the water park to play with Paula and the kids she babysits. Tanner used to scream if we even got near it, but he has warmed up to it and likes it ok now.

These bison were just walking along the road. It was funny, Matt started making noises at them and they started running.
Matt and HD were pretty crazy. They walked down by the river through a herd of bison. I was so scared for them. A couple bison were eyeing them like they wanted them to leave. When we went into the park they gave a flier that says, "WARNING MANY VISITORS HAVE BEEN GORED BY BUFFALO." It also said, "Buffalo can weigh 2000 pounds and sprint at 30 miles per hour three times faster than you can run." I guess no one else saw it before he and HD approached them. Luckily no one was gored. Later Mickie read it to them and realized how crazy they were.

Time to Baby Proof

He may not crawl but he can still get around and into trouble. He's not into putting things into his mouth though, so that is good. However, it is annoying when I want him to feed himself Cheerios or whatever.

Hair, I hate hair

So I was bored with my hair, which happens about every 6 months or so, so I cut bangs. I don't know how to wear them though. To the front, to the side? I don't like them yet, but I probably will soon. I'm debating on what to do with the rest of my hair. It needs a trim but at salon they ALWAYS chop too much off, and I want to grow it out. Wish I could do it myself; too scared. Sooo, we'll see. Any ideas for a style???

Surgery

Well, I am scheduled to get my gall bladder out on June 5th. I'm not excited about the recovery. Guess it isn't bad, but I will miss exercising and hopefully I can manage Tanner ok. I'll have to recrute some friends and family to come help me and keep me company.

Gall Stones

I found out this week through an ultrasound that I have gall stones. They've been hurting me sporatically since Tanner was born. So, I'll probably have my gall bladder removed. I have had to go through three different doctors to get taken seriously. I knew that was the problem since every woman and some of the men in my family have had gall stones. One doctor gave me a laxative and he said, "Try this and your stomach will feel better." The next said I had acid reflux, and them my OB (which is a woman, by the way, yay for woman doctors who actually listen) said, "Oh yeah, sounds like gall stones. Do you want an ultra sound?" Yes please. And sure enough, that is what it is.

Oh, and by the way. I went to the Wellness Center today to get an assessment to see how healthy I am. Nate works there for one of his classes so he did it. It was funny because he checked my blood pressure, but he kept getting an "impossibly low reading" so he redid it probably 10 times. Finally he had someone else do it and it was still super low. 75/50. Everyone was really concerned and saying that I should be light headed or blacked out at that low. I felt fine until I had to do the bench press. I had to do my max. Then I was a little light headed, but who doesn't practically black out during the max out?
