Ashlyn's afghan

Finished! I don't have many blankets that aren't blue, so I decided to teach myself to crochet one in girly pink. It is not perfect, that is why the flowers; I had to cover up some weird stitching along the edges. I finally figured out what I was doing wrong so most of it is fine.
I've decided I am not a very good do it your selfer. I could really use a mentor when learning a new skill. I am a professional coverer upper though. I am pretty good at covering up mistakes. :)

Happy 4th Tanner

I wanted to make Tanner's party as simple and fun as possible. I hate making events stressful for myself with over planning. Birthdays are supposed to be fun, not dreaded. So, we did slip n slide, and it was a blast. Almost all the kids participated, I didn't expect that. I made a basketball cake for Tanner as he requested. I attempted fondant with this one and it turned out yummy. Not the prettiest, but not horrible either. The fondant part was fine, it was the dumb writing that got me. Any tips on how to do pretty writing on cakes? I just got the store bought stuff in a tube.

Dallin was one who didn't participate. Instead he and his buddy Mason chowed down on crackers and watched.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Pocatello

There is a very deserving family in our community that is getting an Extreme Home makeover. It is a single mom of 9 kids who has survived breast cancer and a house fire recently. Here is progress. We walked to the spectator area today. They live about 2 miles from our house. They have been working around the clock since Tuesday, I believe, and will be done this coming Tuesday. It will be neat to see the full story on TV. I don't know when the episode will air, but I will let you know.

Beautiful baby, and her sweet sister

I took some pictures for our neighbor today. Babies have to be my favorite to photograph. You just work with the cuteness that comes with being a baby. Isn't it amazing that these two little girls are sisters? A blondy and a brunette. I guess that is how Breanna was as a baby too.

We finally made it to the local water park, only took us all summer. It was fun. Wish we would have gone more.

30 weeks

Nate took these of me today. He always make fun when I use a tripod to take one of myself.
At 30 weeks my waist measurement is 4 inches away from where I was when I delivered Dallin. Wondering if I am going to get bigger with this one. Hoping not. I am exercising a lot still and keeping my weight gain slow and steady (15 lbs so far), so we will see.

First Kiss

I don't know who's idea it was, but Tanner and this little cutie, Jaylee, kissed today. I think it was some older kids encouraging it. First kiss at 4 years old.


Haven't mentioned Dallin in a few posts, so here is a picture. He loves to run around without clothes and shoes, that is why lots of nudie shots lately.

A photo shoot

I took some pictures for a friend of Nate. He has such a cute family. Just look at his daughter, Ashton. What a doll! Makes me excited for our little Ashlyn.

Self Taught

Many dads look forward to the day they get to teach their child to ride a bike with no training wheels. Well, Tanner took that dream from Nate. He taught himself to ride a two wheeler today. He practiced a couple hours and then he got it. This isn't his bike though. His is bigger. Not sure he could do it as well on a bigger bike, at least not with some more painful falls.

They fit!

Our car seats came today and they are amazing! Do you see the room to spare even between Tanner and the baby seat? Awesome!

My friend Laura was inspired to tell me about these for sure. Saved us thousands of dollars that we would have had to use to buy a new car.

P.S. The boys are NOT naked it just looks that way. They were playing in the water and got all wet. Of course we striped them down before we put them in their new seats.

Learning how to have a sister

We have a cute little neighbor girl who is teaching Tanner how to be a big brother to a sister. She let Tanner change her baby doll's diaper. Notice how Tanner is wearing Breanna's "princess shoes" and pulling her Dora backback while she is holding his football, wearing his sheriff badge and flip flops. I have a feeling this picture will be pulled out often later. :)

My camera is back!

Oh how I missed my camera. I missed it so much we made a trip to Rexburg to get it. We also went to the spray park, had a picnic and got snow cones with Jordan and Michaela.
