Bloggin' again

Not sure what got into me, but I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. We have been in Utah for a week. We (me and the boys) have been visiting parks and friends, and I always forget my camera, until today. I finally took it to a park in Salt Lake where we met up with Erin and her kids, who we met last summer in New Jersey. I've also seen Annalisa, a childhood friend that I've maintained contact with. It has been really fun. I can't believe one week is down already. 5 more to go. 

Nate has been enjoying his clinical affiliation, but said it isn't very challenging. He is doing acute care, which is at the hospital. He basically helps patients out of bed and gets them to walk around a bit. Luckily there are other options with PT and he can do something that will suit him better. Transportation on the buses and Trax have been interesting, and annoying. He will get it down soon.

Clinical Affiliation

I just realized I never blogged about what we are doing for the next couple of weeks. Nate has his first clinical affiliation at a hospital in Salt Lake. We were blessed to find a place to stay thanks to some Rexburg friends, the Garners. We will stay about 45 minutes from SLC for 6 weeks. We are excited for a change of scenery. We have never actually lived in Utah, just visited for a couple days at a time. If anyone knows of any fun places to visit while there, please tell us!

Terrible 2's have started early

Dallin has been getting into mischief recently. Coloring on walls, rubbing food all over his body, dropping food on the floor, pushing other kids around. And laughing about it all! He seems proud of his rebelliousness.I guess my taking pictures of it probably encourages it, huh? But wouldn't you love a picture of yourself or of your kid like this later? I would.

Free downloadable books

My mom emailed me this link to Deseret Book. (http://deseretbook.com/free) I guess they are offering some LDS books for free to download. Here are the titles. Some sound interesting. I downloaded them all. I may read them while in Utah. We leave in a week and a half. I am excited and nervous. Mostly excited.

No more teasing Spring!

It appears Spring is here, but you never really know here. But it is amazing how the weather influences my mood. I am so much happier to be able to go outside with the boys and go for walks. It is supposed to be nice for a few days, and you know we will be enjoying it.

How do you like Tanner's sweat shirt? His aunt and uncle Matt and Mickie got one for each of the boys. Love them!

Just a peek

We went to Utah for the weekend to spend time with Nate's brother's families. We had a great time listening to General Conference, visiting, eating, and celebrating Easter. We took some pictures of the boys and their cousins. Here are just a couple of Tanner that I think are adorable. I will post some more later.

Braces savings account?

I took the boys to the dentist today and no cavities, BUT the dentist said to start saving for braces now because both boys have weird bites. 4 of my siblings had major orthodontics done to fix their bites. I guess as long as they can get the no cavities from Nate's side we can deal with braces.

Ok, so this isn't Tanner's real bite, but it is a little crooked, Dallin's too. You can kind of see Dallin's in this picture. Wonder if braces will be necessary, or if it is just "cosmetic".I think it is sort of cute actually.

Weird pregnancy things

• I always laughed a women with cravings related to pregnancy. Thought it was in the head, but I have been craving things! Weird thing is, I became nearly vegan a few months ago, and that is out the window for now. I started craving meat and dairy bad. The cravings are passing though, maybe I just needed some iron, or some protein, B12, whatever. I don't think I will give up the meat and dairy to the extent I had while I am prego just to be sure to get the nutrients.

• I've heard it said, "If you find yourself with an appetite like a teenage boy, it is likely you will have a boy." If that is the case, I am having another! I've been so hungry and food never tasted so good, probably because I am eating meat and dairy again. Ha ha. Luckily I haven't put on a bunch of weight. Maybe more than I need to for being 10 weeks though:  2 lbs. They say up to 5 in the first trimester, so I am actually fine. I'd rather have an appetite than morning sickness. My goal is to not gain more than 25 lbs. Gained that with Dallin and struggled with the last 5 or so.

• Pretty sure I am not having twins, but I've never felt anxious about it like I do this time. With my other pregnancies I got an ultra sound at 9 weeks to see how many are in there and stuff. Not here. No ultrasound until 20 weeks. I am probably anxious because now we are thinking we will just get a narrower car seat for Dallin and squeeze all 3 in the car. If we had twins, a new car would be a must.

• I am exhausted like I've never been before. 2 hour naps everyday. We have stairs in our place and I get to the bottom, look up, sigh, and start the hike. Sometimes half way up (only about 7 steps) I have to stop for a rest. When I get to the top sometimes I am dizzy and want to sit there for a few minutes to recover. So weird. I am in good shape. I still go to my spinning and barbell class a few times a week, but I take the intensity way down, to get through it. This is the most frustrating part of pregnancy for me. Makes me a grouch.

Any opinions?

We will officially need a new car as of late October 2010 to accommodate our growing family. Yes! This is an announcement that we are pregnant! We won't be able to fit three car seats in our Subaru Outback, so we will need to upgrade. Our Outback has been so good to us and will be hard to replace. We are looking at a few cars and wonder if anyone has an opinion on these or other 6+ passenger cars. We don't want an American made car, so don't even suggest it. :) Our only other requirements are All Wheel Drive and not ridiculously expensive. We'll go with a used one that is a couple years old probably.

My nephew was born on March 19th. His name is Drew Ryan Tanner. 8 lbs. and 20 inches long. We went to Rexburg for the weekend to help out. Of course I had to take pictures.

Baseball prep

Tanner and Dallin practiced hitting a racquetball with racquets. Tanner should be ready to use a bat in no time. He was hitting the ball really well. I can't wait until the boys are on teams. I think it will be so fun to cheer for them at games.

Drawing

Tanner has been showing an interest in drawing recently. He tries really hard to color inside the lines in coloring books.

He gave his drawings names. I am not sure why Calin (his baby cousin) is the one with the eye brows. Or why "Sister" is on there. I've asked him if he wants a sister and he said "No!" I'm not surprised the Campbell family is on there. He loves them.

about the bum coverage of underwear when it is on wrong? And it doesn't even make sense that he wants them on backwards with this pair because the picture is the same on the front and back. Who knows?

He makes me laugh

Tanner likes to wear his underwear backwards so he can see the pictures on them. As you probably know, the fronts are a little smaller than the backs, so not as good of coverage.
