Golfing

See how cute Michaela's belly is in the background? She's one of the cutest pregnant girls I've seen. Only 12 weeks or so until I get another nephew. Wow! And that is about how much longer we will be here too. This summer is flying.

Hole in one! Not really, but you'd think so from his excitement. He loves golf.

Jenkinson's Aquarium

We decided to get out and do something this weekend, so we found this place called Jenkinson's boardwalk. We went to the the Aquarium, a mini golf course and a Fun House. This post is just of the Aquarium. I'll do the rest later. But it was kind of cool. Had sharks, alligators, seals, penguins, all kinds of cool fish and some birds and bugs. Michaela will probably post pictures too of our trip they went with. It was dark in there so my pictures aren't great.

These 2 boys with Dallin in the pictures below are probably the closest in age out of all the APX kids. Walker is the red head with his foot in the cake, and Sawyer is the other one. Sawyer turns 1 next month, so we'll get to do it all over again. They made the biggest mess!

Happy 1st Dallin!

We did Dallin's birthday party at Dorbrook park and it rained. But we didn't let that stop us. We just ate cupcakes and ice cream under an umbrella, then the kids rinsed off in the rain. They seemed to be loving it.

Birthday disaster and Scooter

See these cute ball cupcakes? These are not mine! These are some Betty Crocker's cup cakes that I was trying to copy.


See these hideous white ones with red goo on them that sort of resemble baseballs? These are mine. I wanted to cry and throw them all away, but I don't do stuff like that; I make do. So, I just swirled the frosting around and made these kind of, sort of better looking ones. Still a BIG disappointment, but oh well, they will taste good still.







On a happier note. Tanner loves this scooter. The sales reps get them when they hit a certain number of sales. I love it as much as Tanner does, but for different reasons. This is our "kid wearer outer": great for getting them nice and tired for a nap or bed. The other day Tanner scooted a mile on the boardwalk with his buddy Levi. I should have taken a picture after he was done scooting. Tanner was cursed with the splotchy red sweaty face that I get too after good hard exercise.

Pet Peeve

This is how I bring groceries up from the car. We live on the third floor and we have to park on the third floor of a parking garage. So I have to use the stroller and kick one of the kids out to replace him with groceries. On top of that, the most convenient entrance to the apartment has stairs to get to the elevator, so I have to take the long way around and go through 3 doors to get to the elevator.

Enlightened

I should have been a Health Science major because I love to learn about nutrition, exercise and just health related things. I'm a fan of Jillian Michaels and just read Master Your Metabolism. She doesn't have a fancy degree or anything, but has done tons of research that she cites in this book.
Basically the book is about balancing your hormones by Removing antinutrients and toxins, Restoring natural whole foods to your diet, and Rebalancing your hormones by sleeping, dealing with stress and exercising. She is a bit of an extremest, but I love her ideas. I always kind of rolled my eyes at "going organic" but now I seriously want to do it as much as I can. She says to go all organic in everything, food, household products, cosmetics, everything! I can't afford to do that right now, but I will where I can. If you read it you will want to too because she gives all these disgusting statistics and examples that make you never want to touch unorganic again. For example she tells how tomatoes are picked prematurely to be transported. "The tomato is still green because it was picked too early, so now it is sprayed with argon gas (aslo used to euthanize dogs) to make it turn red prematurely." Yikes! So if you want an eye opening experience, read this book. I loved it and am making changes to eat and live cleaner and more naturally.

Bubbles

This weird face Dallin is pulling is his excited face. His arms and legs stiffen and his face distorts. It is hilarious. Sometimes, when is is super excited, he shakes. He must like bubbles.

Twin Lights of Navesink

Since we live along a coast line, there are some lighthouses. We visited these twin lighthouses when my mom and dad were here. Kind of cool. You can see NY city from them; not great because of the smog, but sort of. Didn't realize we were so close.

I didn't take the picture above. I couldn't get a decent picture of both of them from how close we were.

Beach volleyball

The APX guys like to play volleyball, so we went down to watch them. Nate is pretty good!

Park with Grandpa

We've enjoyed having my parents here for the week. We haven't been out site seeing as much as I thought, but site seeing is expensive here, and so are all the dumb toll roads that get you to all the cool places. And Nate had to go to an eye specialist for an eye problem, and they are having him do blood tests and an MRI and get an $80 bottle of eye drops. So we are trying to be extra conservative in our spending. So we've been taking my parents to parks, beaches, lighthouses and a flea market. They went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We've rented movies most days. I'm just glad to have some company, and they are happy to have time off of work.

Dallin

Loves corn and getting under anything he can fit under. Even though this is a fun time for Dallin; learning a lot and showing his personality, I am sad I am going to be baby-less and will have two toddlers soon. Dallin has been such a sweet baby. I hope he stays sweet.
