Zoo

This week kids and their parents got into the Idaho Falls zoo for free, so we went with my old walking buddy, Alicia, and her kids.

Tanner got close lined by a cord he walked into and got a bloody mouth and bump on his head. He pretty much cried the whole time. Such a bummer.

Surprise Sunday

Sunday Matt and Mickie came up from Utah to visit. It wasn't a surprise for us, but they surprised Jordan and Michaela. We spent the afternoon visiting in Rexburg.I can't get Tanner to get his finger out of his nose. At least he doesn't eat his boogers. . .yet.

Pocatello Marathon

My brother Paul and his family came to Pocatello to run a 10K. I wish that I could have done it with him. I couldn't justify paying $50 to run in it though. He signed up early when it was cheaper. He did pretty good, about 50 minutes, I think.

Thought this was awesome! I want my family to do this someday.
Nate's PT association did a fund raiser doing massages. Here is Nate and a fellow classmate at the finish line trying to get people to get a massage.
The races ended at a pretty park, so I went crazy and took all kinds of pictures of the boys.

This gets a lot of people's attention. They wonder what in the world Dallin is wearing. I think it is cute when his colorful cloth diaper is sticking out of his pants.

A beautiful sunset here in Idaho.


As Tanner gets older he gets a little more eccentric. He put these goggles on while he played and left them on for a good 20 minutes. He also likes to wear his winter boots around outside, even when it is 80 degrees. If I try to reason with him and take them off, he cries.

Calin Michael Spence was born late Saturday night. 7 lbs 15 ozs. Welcome to the family! Congratulations Jordan and Michaela.

I almost have a nephew!

We went to Rexburg today because Michaela has been in labor all day and we left before baby came, he's taking his time getting here. We'll have to go back tomorrow. But we had fun anyway. Went to Porter Park to play and took the boys' cousin Joel. (Sorry we didn't call you Alicia, I forgot my phone in Pocatello and didn't have your number).

We celebrated Tanner's birthday one more time with his Rexburg friends. It is amazing how toddlers and babies change in just 4 months. All the kids are so much bigger. We went to our favorite park in Rexburg, Porter Park, and ate cake and ice cream.

David and Tanner missed each other so much. It was a happy reunion. They got along better this time around. Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

We're here!

We've had a break in blogging due to our move back to Idaho. But we are here! So good to be back. Stayed with Matt and Mickie, then Paul and Paula while Nate drove back. The Congers in Iowa were terrific and let Nate crash at their place for a night.

We moved into our new place yesterday. Paul and Paula have been great! Helped us move. We're really excited about living there. Right next to campus and in a community of townhomes where everyone is a student, or married to one, and most with kids. We had about 5 of our neighbors show up to volunteer to help us move in. Our next door neighbor is a 2nd year PT student. I think there are a few PT students living here. Looks like there is some nice walking/jogging paths, and some parks close by. Today is the day we unpack and get settled. Nate has orientation on Friday. I love a fresh start.

Tanner lately

Nate woke up and found Tanner's bed empty and asked if I had seen him. I hadn't. Nate found him on the bathroom sink putting on my make up.

We had a couple rainy days late week, so Nate got creative and built a volleyball court with chairs and a blanket.

In this one he is saying "Stand back Mom."

I've been meaning to ask for suggestions. Tanner is completely potty trained as far as peeing goes during the day. Accidents are rare. He is waking up dry periodically, so we are getting there. But he will not poop on the toilet. Often it happens in his pants (much worse than a poopy cloth diaper. Once the elastic on Tanner's underwear flicked poo on my face when I was taking them off!) or he will come ask urgently for a diaper. So how do you get a kid to poo in the pot? What is so scary about it? I tried bribing him with ice cream, and doesn't work. So any other suggestions?
